Terms of Service

Last updated: July 8, 2026

The short version: your logbook data is yours, subscriptions are billed through the App Store or Stripe, and RotorLog is a record-keeping aid, and you remain responsible for your official pilot records.

Agreement

These terms apply when you use RotorLog, the iOS, iPadOS and macOS app and the web app at rotorlog.com/app, operated by Philip van Riessen (“RotorLog”, “we”, “us”). By using RotorLog you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app or the web service.

Your license to use RotorLog

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use RotorLog to keep your pilot logbook. You may not resell the service, copy it, or make it available to others as your own product.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials safe and for activity that happens under your account. Keep your account email current so we can reach you, and let us know right away if you think your account has been compromised.

Subscriptions and billing

  • RotorLog Pro is available monthly ($4.99), yearly ($39.99), or as a one-time lifetime purchase ($89.99). RotorLog AI is a separate monthly subscription that raises AI usage limits.
  • On iOS, purchases are billed through the Apple App Store; on the web app, through Stripe. The price shown at checkout at the time of purchase applies.
  • Pro subscriptions include a 3-day free trial. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.
  • You can cancel at any time through your App Store subscription settings or the Stripe customer portal; access continues until the end of the paid period.
  • Refunds are handled by the store you purchased through, under Apple’s or Stripe’s applicable policies.

Acceptable use

  • Use RotorLog only for lawful purposes and only to log data you have the right to record.
  • Don’t attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the service.
  • Don’t abuse the AI features, circumvent usage limits, or use them to process content you have no rights to.

Your content

Your logbook data belongs to you. You grant us only the limited permissions needed to store, sync, back up, and display it for you, and when you choose to use an AI feature, to process the relevant data through our AI providers to produce your result. We don’t claim ownership of your flight records, and you can export them at any time.

Not an official record

RotorLog is a record-keeping aid. The pilot remains responsible for meeting all legal logbook, licensing, and currency requirements that apply to them. Always verify entries, totals, and currency calculations against your official records, and do not rely on RotorLog as your sole source for regulatory compliance. AI-generated answers and imported flights can contain errors, so review them before saving.

Disclaimer and liability

RotorLog is provided “as is.” We work hard to keep it reliable and secure, but we can’t guarantee it will always be available, error-free, or sufficient for any regulatory purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Termination

You can stop using RotorLog and delete your account from inside the app at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or abuse the service. If we ever discontinue the service, we will give you reasonable notice so you can export your logbook.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to conflict of law rules. Any disputes will be handled by the competent courts of the Netherlands, unless mandatory consumer law in your country of residence provides otherwise.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as RotorLog evolves. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we will let you know in the app or by email. Continuing to use RotorLog after a change means you accept the updated terms.
